TENS machines may provide pain relief. Additionally Electrical Muscle Stimulation may help strengthen and repair muscle. This may be beneficial to those recovering from accidents and those wishing to build up and tone muscles.
The TENS pain relief function creates a “butterfly effect” on painful areas. This program does not specifically heal or promote muscle regeneration but is used in a way that is thought to trick the central nervous system into “ignoring” painful areas. While the machine is running you will experience a slight (usually not uncomfortable) “pins and needles” effect. After TENS therapy some users report pain relief lasting some time after treatment.
